FACE BEHIND AMC BROWS
Hello beautiful people,
I’m Abbie May Cox, known as AMC Brows. I am currently 24 years of age and living my brow DREAM, I currently live at home with my beautiful parents if it wasn’t for them I would not be where I am today, they kindly allow me to have my lovely little business in our family household.
I work from a little room in our family home which is mine and so many other people’s safe space.
My workspace for now is PERFECT & so cute if I do say so myself.
How would I describe myself? I am not very good at speaking about myself, but I would start by saying I am a very compassionate and caring person.
I never want to see anyone down or upset & if someone is I will do my utmost to help and make them as happy as I can.
I am a very emotional person, if you cry I cry…I sometimes wish I wasn’t like this but day by day I learn how to deal with it more & more and see it as a positive. I am also that person who wants to help & support everyone & anyone, I love seeing people grow & shine, I think there is nothing more amazing to see. I believe this world is so horrible as it is, why not show as much love as you can? I never take life too seriously, I’m always running around like crazy, cracking jokes and being silly.
(If any of my clients were to read this they would be saying HELL YEAH haha)
I would say I am for sure a perfectionist with everything I do, I will put my whole heart into whatever it is I decide to do, ESPECIALLY when it comes to creating beautiful brows for people.
How did I get into being a brow tech? I have always been obsessed with doing my brows, to the point, if they weren’t exactly how I wanted them to be it would RUIN my day – haha.
Even in school, I would never wear a lot of makeup, I would only have to have my brows done, if my brows were done I felt complete…
This hasn’t changed now I am 24, if the brows are done, I’m ready to go! In 2019 I kept seeing some incredible brow accounts, and people following their dreams, and I simply had a moment of WHY NOT...
While I was at a 9-5 job I booked a brow course and AMC began.
After my course, I decided to start with evening clients after my office job & on Saturdays. VERY quickly I needed more time to do brows, this is where I cannot thank my old boss enough. I had a boss who offered to slowly bring in half days throughout the week, a couple of years went by & I eventually had to leave an office job which I loved & would have done anything for.
With the type of work ethic I have if I could still do both jobs I probably would as I loved everyone there & loved how it broke up my dreams. But in life, we have to let some things go as sad as it is, and follow our dreams & passions in life.
In March 2024 I took the massive jump, and I am now a self-employed girlie. It was a hard adjustment but the best thing I could do for myself & my health.
What has been my favourite experience/pinch-me moment in the brow world?
There are so many amazing things and opportunities that have come with my amazing business, let’s start thing one of the biggest things I have ever been asked to do is become a judge for the 2023 BROW AWARDS…AHHHHH,
this was a NO WAY, moment in my brow world, I couldn’t believe I was asked to be a part of something SO inspiring & supportive, the Brow Awards has the most special place in my heart, it is a night where we all come together to celebrate us & each other & show love & support.
For me to be asked to be a judge for 2023 & again for 2024 makes me feel so lucky, I cried for days when I was asked 2 years in a row. I can’t thank my beautiful Debs enough for helping change how I see myself & change my career.
The brow network event was a massive pinch-me moment, I was asked to fly over to Glasgow & perform a demonstration on stage…STAGE,I had a mic on and felt like Beyoncé…HAHA, it was the most surreal moment ever, the room was completely full of incredible brow techs that wanted to learn MY tips & tricks…like what???
It was magical.
This event brought me so much confidence & belief in myself.
I can’t believe they wanted ME, but I did it & thanked my lucky stars I was asked.I have been asked to be a part of so many other uplifting events with some of the most known brands in the UK, and for that, I am so truly grateful.
Due to doing all these amazing things & working with some of the most talented/supportive people & brands, gave me the confidence to offer my face to face masterclass, in which I have had over 20 talented students (only from July 2023) travel to my location and spend the day with me, PINCH ME!
Not only this I have also over 400 students WORLDWIDE, from my first 2 online masterclasses, again I have to thank my beautiful Debs for pushing and helping me to do it, The Brow Geek everyone.
There are 100+ other amazing experiences I haven’t listed but wow I am one lucky girlie.
I NEVER in a million years thought AMC would be as big as it is today, and I NEVER thought I would be able to teach and help other brow techs.
I honestly don’t think I will ever get over how grateful & lucky I feel.
I don’t know what I have done to deserve this all but I can’t thank my family, friends, clients, followers & everyone else enough for all the love & support.
I wouldn’t be able to do this without you all.
If there is one thing I need to add to this little story about me and my journey is a note to anyone reading this.
DO NOT GIVE UP, push yourself & I promise you will get to where you want to be one day, please remember I will be here to help and support anyone.
